Man identified in deadly Aug. 2 rollover on I-15

The Clark County coroner's office on Sunday identified a man killed in an Interstate 15 crash north of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway two weekends ago.

Luciano Orozco Pelayo, 35, of Las Vegas, was fatally injured in the Aug. 2, single-vehicle rollover wreck that also critically injured a woman, 36, and seriously injured a 17-year-old boy, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

First responders were called about 7:30 p.m. to the crash on northbound I-15, between the speedway and Apex Industrial Park, NHP said. The three Las Vegans were in a Ford F-150 that was pulling a trailer. Orozco Pelayo lost control of the truck and rolled over into the median.

The three people were not wearing seat belts and they were all taken to University Medical Center, NHP said. The condition of the woman and boy was not immediately available.
