Man killed in crash with tractor-trailer

A man in his 30s died on U.S. Highway 93 near Coyote Springs on Wednesday morning after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer and caught fire, Nevada Highway Patrol officials said.

The identity of the deceased man was not released.

Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Kevin Honea said the collision occurred shortly after 5 a.m. Honea said the man was driving an unknown model Chevrolet south on U.S. Highway 93 while a tractor-trailer was traveling north.

Honea said the Chevrolet crossed the center line into a northbound lane and struck the tractor-trailer.

The Chevrolet overturned and was engulfed in flames, Honea said.

The man died at the scene.
