Man killed in Friday accident identified

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in an accident on Friday as 20-year-old Jonathon David Lee Williams of Henderson.

Williams was northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard about a mile north of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway when, for reasons unknown, his Jeep Cherokee drifted into southbound traffic and into the path of a gravel truck.

The driver of the gravel truck steered sharply to the right but could not avoid the Jeep, according to the highway patrol. The front left of the Jeep struck the left side of the truck.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
