Man wanted in toddler’s death turns himself in

A 30-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of an 18-month-old boy turned himself in to investigators Monday, Las Vegas police said.

Clyde Biggs surrendered to police about 4:45 p.m. accompanied by his attorney, police said.

Police accuse Biggs of causing the death of Lolita Boyd-Marshall's son, Larry Boyd. The unconscious and unresponsive toddler was transported to the hospital Nov. 1. He later died from his injuries. The child was in Biggs' care.

An autopsy found the toddler had a collapsed lung, contusions on both lungs, a torn right adrenal gland, massive laceration of the liver, right kidney hemorrhage and excessive bruising on the face, ear, chest, abdomen, right arm and left foot "all consistent with nonaccidental trauma."

Biggs will face the recommended charges of murder by child abuse, child neglect with substantial bodily harm and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Marshall was away from her residence at the time her son was injured. But because Biggs has had previous incidents of child abuse involving her children, she was arrested on the recommended charge of child neglect with substantial bodily harm.
