Motorcyclist injured in morning accident; Spring Mountain-Wynn intersection closed

A driver in a Thursday morning vehicle crash fled the scene after colliding with a motorcyclist, who was seriously injured.

Las Vegas police responded to Spring Mountain and Wynn roads about 5:30 a.m. after receiving reports of an accident.

Officers found a car crashed through a brick wall and a motorcyclist with substantial leg injuries, police said.

Jonathan Porter, 27, was leaving the scene of a previous accident in a 1997 Lincoln Navigator when he rear-ended a motorcycle, ejecting the rider from his bike, police said.

Porter continued south on Wynn Road until the SUV crashed into a wall, according to the report. Porter then fled the scene on foot before surrendering to police about 11 a.m, police aid.

He faces one charge of felony hit and run.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Medical Center.
