NASA planning mission to search for life on Jupiter’s moon — VIDEO

NASA has announced plans to send a spacecraft to Jupiter to explore one of its moons, Europa, for signs of life, according to CNN.

Europa, one of Jupiter’s 62 known moons, is thought to be one of the most likely places in our solar system to support life because many scientists believe there is an ocean of liquid water beneath its surface.

NASA’s plan is to send a spacecraft to do 45 flybys of Europa. The spacecraft would take years to get there, but would be able to take high-resolution images that would hopefully allow scientists to better understand the makeup of the moon’s icy surface.

The plan is currently entering the development stage.
