10 injured after semi hits school bus

STARKE, Fla. — Authorities say 10 people, including seven children, were injured when a semi rear-ended a stopped school bus as children were exiting in north Florida.

Bradford County Sheriff’s Capt. Brad Smith said the accident occurred Monday afternoon, just north of Starke, and that none of the injuries were believed to be life threatening.

Smith said two or three of the children had serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

Bradford County schools spokesman Brian Graham said there were 15 students on the bus when it was hit by the truck traveling south on U.S. 301.

Graham says seven children, the bus driver, and the truck driver and a passenger in that vehicle were all among the injured.

All of the parents had been notified.
