3-year-old Las Vegas girl dies in fall at Anaheim hotel

A 3-year-old Las Vegas girl died after falling five stories at an Anaheim, Calif. hotel, officials say.

Anaheim Fire and Rescue was called to the Embassy Suites Anaheim, 3100 East Frontera St., about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, fire and police spokesman Eric Trapp said.

Paramedics found the toddler, identified by the Orange County coroner‘s office as Stephanie Martinez, suffering from traumatic injury after she fell from a courtyard walkway, Trapp said. It was not immediately known how she fell.

Stephanie died just before 7 p.m. Saturday at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, according to a report from the coroner‘s office. Her death was ruled an accident.

Trapp said Stephanie and her family were in town from Las Vegas visiting relatives.
