Nevada Supreme Court rejects bid by tax cap proponents
CARSON CITY -- The Nevada Supreme Court has rejected a request to reconsider an earlier decision that kept a proposal to cap property taxes off the November ballot.
Proponents of the tax cap pushed by former state lawmaker Sharron Angle wanted the court to reconsider in part because of a recent decision by a federal judge that invalidated a requirement that signatures had to be collected in all 17 counties.
But the court said in a brief order that reconsideration is not warranted because Angle's group was unlikely to succeed if an appeal was allowed to proceed.
