No injuries reported in quake

WILKINS -- Authorities have reduced the magnitude of a northeast Nevada earthquake to 2.9.

No damage or injuries were reported after the 3:58 a.m. Tuesday temblor in Elko County, south-southwest of Wilkins.

The University of Nevada, Reno Seismological Laboratory initially put the magnitude at 3.0.

The lab put the site of the quake about nine miles northwest of Wells, 350 miles east of Reno. Wells is still recovering from a magnitude 6 quake that damaged its historic downtown district on Feb. 21.
