North Las Vegas police seek public’s help in attempted kidnapping

North Las Vegas police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects and vehicle involved in an attempted kidnapping near Von Tobel Middle School on Dec. 18.

Just before winter break, a 12-year-old girl walking to school in the 2900 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North, near Pecos Road, was approached by two men who tried to abduct her, police said.

Police released a sketch of one of the men and pictures of an older, maroon minivan.

According to police, the van pulled up next to the young girl, and the side door slid open. A Hispanic man, about 30 years old, ordered her to get in. The girl said she saw a second man and two teenage girls inside the van.

The girl ran to school and notified authorities.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to call North Las Vegas police at (702) 633-9111. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
