Osmond exults in ‘Dancing’ title
Donny Osmond says he has the perfect centerpiece planned for the family Thanksgiving dinner.
Osmond flew back to Utah late Wednesday with his "Dancing With the Stars" trophy after a day of criss-crossing the country on a whirlwind media tour.
He capped the 6,000-mile-plus odyssey that took him from Los Angeles to New York to Las Vegas with a triumphant return to the "Donny and Marie" show on Wednesday night at the Flamingo.
He told the media that he had the ultimate "gotcha" in mind for his sister, Marie, in their long history of onstage sibling one-upsmanship.
He promised it would come early in her first segment on the show, and there was no doubt he intended to make it The Walk-On of All Walk-Ons ... with a certain shiny mirror ball.
Donny didn't get his wish. Marie acknowledged his win at the end of their opening segment and later said, "Let's see him do it in 6-inch-high heels and do it all backwards."
He already had an inkling of how Marie, who finished third in the fifth season, was taking it. He said she told one of the network morning shows "I'm so happy for him, and I never want to talk about it again."
Winning the "Dancing" crown at age 51, the oldest celebrity to achieve it, is "right there at the top" with the gold records, Donny said. He added, he hadn't slept for two days; he's lost "at least 20 pounds;" and "you name it and it hurts."
DEAL OF THE DAY

First 2,500 fans in the door get a free "The Place to BE" T-shirt. Tickets can be purchased at the Thomas & Mack box office, 739-FANS or UNLVTickets.com.
SIGHTINGS
Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr., rolling up to Bozarth Chevrolet (Ann Road and U.S. Highway 95) near closing time last week in a new white Rolls Royce Coupe worth about $300,000. Tailing him were six vehicles carrying about 20 members of his entourage. Mayweather, with a lady friend at his side, informed the car dealership that he had 30 minutes to do a deal. Fifteen minutes later, the young woman picked out a gold Tahoe sport utility vehicle and Mayweather paid for it with a Visa black card, the kind that reportedly allows one to buy a small jet in a blink of an eye. Mayweather said he was in a hurry. He didn't have time for a free gasoline fill-up, because he had to get ready for a big fight in a couple of months.
