Osmonds return for gigs at Orleans

The Osmonds return to Las Vegas this weekend, confirming what we've known for decades: They are the Energizer Bunnies of entertainment.

Like the drum-pounding, iconic pink rabbit, they just keep going and going.

Four years ago they were at the Orleans to film the family's 50th anniversary celebration.

The beat goes on.

Over the winter they will be preparing for their most ambitious British tour, a total of five dates between March 9 to May 6, which barely gives them a chance to catch their collective breaths and rest their vocal chords.

"The U.K. has been a strong market for us," said Jimmy Osmond, the youngest of nine siblngs. He turns 49 mid-tour.

They've sold 80,000 tickets, he said. The brothers have been doing 200 shows a year "for as long as I can remember," said Osmond, who was 8 years old when he topped the U.K. singles charts with "Long Haired Lover From Liverpool."

MOSS MOVING ON

One of the most popular sports talk shows in Las Vegas is losing more than a voice.

Mitch Moss, whose last day on "Afternoon Gridlock" is Friday, also served as program director at ESPN affiliate KWWN-AM, 1100, and 98.9 FM and Fox Sports Radio 920 (KBAD-AM). Ratings soared when Moss put together the "Gridlock" team that also included Pauly Howard, Seat Williams.

Moss is moving to San Francisco's KGMZ-FM, 95.7, as lead producer for "The Wheelhouse" with John Lund. It's the flagship station for the Oakland Athletics.

Moss is following his wife, former KVVU-TV, Channel 5, personality Lorraine Blanco, to the Bay Area. She recently began freelancing there after 18 months at Sacramento's ABC affiliate KXTV.

THE SCENE AND HEARD

Adam Rapoport, the new editor-in-chief of Bon Appetit magazine, was in town on a 24-hour stop to meet with participating resorts and media in advance of the sixth Vegas Uncork'd in May. During lunch at the Capital Grille at Fashion Show, he told me Bon Appetit's weekend food festival is bringing on board The Cosmopolitan and its robust lineup of star chefs. Careful not to create the appearance of playing favorites, he went off-Strip for a Wednesday dinner gathering at Del Frisco that included Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority execs and resort reps. "Neutral ground," said Rapoport, the former style editor at GQ. ...

KSNV-TV, Channel 3, announced Wednesday that political analysts Elizabeth Crum of the Nevada News Bureau and Hugh Jackson of Las Vegas Gleaner blog are on board, starting next month. …

A sound engineer working on the load-in of "America's Got Talent Live" at The Colosseum (Caesars Palace) suffered leg injuries from a 10-foot fall Tuesday, a Caesars rep said.

Cedric the Entertainer, having tapas at Julian Serrano (Aria) on Tuesday. … Rapoport, a sports fanatic, watching ESPN Tuesday at Mastro's (Crystals at CityCenter) while having a steak, his first of three steakhouses in 24 hours. "My cardiologist won't be happy," he said.
