Pedestrian critical after being struck by vehicle near Las Vegas Strip

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in a Tuesday morning collision is at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with critical injuries.

Las Vegas police were called to the scene of the accident near Flamingo Road and Linq Lane about 9:15 a.m., said officer Larry Hadfield. Police said the pedestrian is 54-year-old Martin Forster from the United Kingdom.

Forster was walking north on Flamingo in the east crosswalk of Linq Lane when a 2005 Ford F650 turned left onto Flamingo from Linq, police said.

The driver of the Ford, 44-year-old Paul Rosquist, did not see Forster in the crosswalk and struck him, the report said.

Forster remains in critical condition. Rosquist was not transported for medical treatment.

Flamingo was closed in both directions for nearly five hours between Las Vegas Boulevard and Koval Lane while police investigated. It has reopened.
