Plane crash victim was Las Vegas resident

ST. GEORGE, Utah -- Authorities have identified the man killed in a single-engine plane crash in southern Utah.

Washington County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Rob Tersigni said Wednesday the pilot was Gary Logan, 54, of Las Vegas.

Tersigni said investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board have been to the crash site, which is in a mountainous area about 20 miles west of St. George.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the Piper Malibu left the North Las Vegas Airport at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and was en route to Cedar City when it disappeared from radar.
