Police arrest suspect in slaying of man in store’s parking lot

A man has been arrested in an early-morning slaying of another man in a Walgreens' parking lot earlier this month.

Las Vegas police said they arrested Marque Gardeley, 37, in connection with the shooting death of 36-year-old Marty Devone James Jacobs on March 1 at the Walgreens on the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Durango Drive.

Gardeley was being held Monday at the Clark County Detention Center without bail on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon, police said.

Gardeley was arrested Friday.

Police said Jacobs was shot about 8:20 a.m. while sitting in a Lexus. Police said a confrontation led to the shooting. Jacobs died at the scene.
