Police: female inmate found dead at Clark County Detention Center

A female inmate was found dead inside a cell at the Clark County Detention Center on Friday, police said.

The 45-year-old woman, who had been in custody since Dec. 10 on a parole violation, was discovered during a routine check, according to a press release issued by the Metropolitan Police Department Friday. The death is an apparent suicide, according to police.

Attempts to revive the woman were unsuccessful. A time of death was not given and her name was not released.

Police are awaiting autopsy results.
