Police identify pedestrian killed on Las Vegas Boulevard
The pedestrian who died after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle Saturday morning has been identified.
Norman Beavers, 39, was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard near Agate Avenue just before 4 a.m. when a gray Nissan Altima hit him.
Beavers was in what Las Vegas police called an “implied crosswalk.”
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County coroner’s office said his official cause of death was blunt force trauma from a motor vehicle/pedestrian collision. It was ruled an accident.
Police arrested the 22-year-old Nissan driver, Peter Whitaker, at his home after he fled the scene.
