Police seek teenager in slaying

Las Vegas police on Thursday named a 15-year-old teen as a suspect in the slaying of an 18-year-old man found dead in the central valley last week.

Police said Kevin Vargas was wanted on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon. Police suspect he was the triggerman in the slaying of North Las Vegas resident Michael Guerrero.

The body was discovered June 24 in a desert lot at 2601 Holly Ave., near Vegas and Rancho drives.

Police described Vargas as 5 feet 2 inches tall, about 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police had not determined a motive in the slaying.
