Reid, Angle to answer queries on economy
September 21, 2010 - 11:00 pm
The public is invited to a U.S. Senate candidate forum Thursday in Las Vegas to hear Sen. Harry Reid and his GOP challenger Sharron Angle answer questions on Nevada's economy and business.
Angle will appear live and Reid via pre-taped video from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School at 2015 S. Hualapai Way, near West Charleston Boulevard.
Each candidate is being given 30 minutes to answer questions for the forum, which comes as the state suffers the highest unemployment rate in the nation at 14.4 percent.
There is seating for about 800 people, who must R.S.V.P. to attend the free event.
R.S.V.P. in an email to rhj@ja.lvcoxmail.com.
The forum is sponsored by Faith Lutheran Business Advisory Council, Christian Businessmen's Network, Businesswomen for Christ and Media Fellowship International.
The event is the first time Angle and Reid will be answering the same questions in a public setting, although the Democratic incumbent taped his answers because he currently is in Washington.
The only formal Reid-Angle televised debate is scheduled for Oct. 14 on Vegas PBS with other TV and radio stations statewide expected to carry the evening event live.
