On Oct. 4, 2011, a ceremony was held to honor those who lost their lives to domestic violence during the last year in Las Vegas. Co-hosted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Southern Nevada Domestic Violence Council, the event marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
