Student with unloaded gun arrested at Von Tobel Middle School

Police found a .22-caliber handgun on a 13-year-old boy at Von Tobel Middle School, 2436 N. Pecos Road, about 9:30 a.m. today, according to Capt. Jim Ketsaa of the Clark County School District Police Department.

The gun was not loaded, he said.

The boy, who was not named because he is a juvenile, was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. He was arrested and taken to a juvenile detention center.

School officials were alerted by another student who saw the gun, Ketsaa said.
