Suspect in Arizona slaying arrested in Las Vegas
The Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team arrested an Arizona murder suspect Thursday in Las Vegas.
Aaron Smiley, 30, was wanted by the Tucson Police Department in connection with the shooting death of Johnny Meza, 36. The shooting occurred after the two had an argument Saturday afternoon at a party.
Meza was pronounced dead after someone dropped him off at a hospital.
Smiley is being held at the Clark County Detention Center pending extradition to Arizona.
The Fugitive Investigative Strike Team is a permanent task force that brings together the resources and expertise of state, local and federal agencies in a coordinated effort to arrest dangerous and violent fugitives. It is led by the U.S. Marshals Service.
