Suspicious packages prompt evacuation of Henderson store

Suspicious packages prompted Henderson police to evacuate a shopping center near Sunset Road and Stephanie Street on Tuesday night.

Officer Todd Rasmussen said that Burlington Coat Factory employees told police that at 8:41 p.m. two suspicious men walked into the store, left the packages and walked out. A security guard followed the two men out of the store and police arrested them across the street.

Store employees also said the packages had a strong odor. Rasmussen did not release the suspects' identities or detail the charges they faced. Police also did not specify what the packages contained.

ARMOR, the All-hazards Regional Multi-agency Operations and Response task force that handles area calls on bombs and hazardous materials, responded to the incident.
