Teen killed in dirt bike crash

A 14-year-old riding an off-road dirt bike was killed Thursday afternoon after he collided with a car outside of Las Vegas.

Nevada Highway Patrol said the rider collided with a car about 2:25 p.m. on state Route 165 at the Nelson’s Landing turn off.

No one else was hurt. Trooper Loy Hixson, a spokesman, said he didn’t immediately know details about the collision or whether the bike was street legal.
