Witnesses continue to come forward with differing accounts of a police shooting in front of a Summerlin Costco store that left an armed customer dead.
Erik Scott was shot and killed by three Las Vegas police officers who were called to a disturbance at the crowded store.
Police said they have spoken to 40 witnesses, more than a dozen of whom said they saw Scott pull out a handgun, one of two permitted firearms he carried.
The Review-Journal has interviewed seven witnesses. Three said Scott drew the gun, but none said they saw him point it at officers.
Three people have been killed in officer-involved shootings across the valley since June 11.
At a news conference on Friday, Sheriff Doug Gillespie called on the public to be patient and allow the shootings to be investigated thoroughly.

Green for green power
It's costing a bundle for local power utility NV Energy to comply with a state law that requires it to buy green energy.
New filings from the company show that it plans to pay 8.6 cents to 13.5 cents per kilowatt hour to buy electricity from seven renewable-power projects.
That price runs two to four times higher than the roughly 4 cents per kilowatt hour the utility paid over the past 18 months for wholesale power, most of which came from natural-gas generation.
