Two suspects held in beating death of Reno acquaintance
RENO -- Two men have been arrested on murder charges in the beating death of an acquaintance in Reno.
Police said 21-year-old Jeremie Johnson and 20-year-old Codie Walker were booked Friday night into the Washoe County jail in the death of 20-year-old Ashton Pacheco.
Pacheco initially appeared to have suffered only minor injuries in the attack Wednesday night, investigators said, but his condition declined until 911 was called about 16 hours later.
He was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries. He and the suspects were acquaintances, police say, and no weapons were used in the attack.
