Vehicle child booster seats given away in North Las Vegas
Can't afford a vehicle booster seat for your child? Get one for free Saturday at North Las Vegas Justice Court.
Judge Natalie Tyrrell is partnering with Safe Kids Clark County and the Black Ministers of Southern Nevada for the third annual "Free Booster Seats for Those in Need" from 9 a.m. to noon at the court, 2428 N. Martin Luther King Blvd. at Carey Avenue.
The event, held in conjunction with Black History Month, provides free booster seats for children 4 years old or older who weigh at least 40 pounds. Those who want a seat must bring their children and vehicle to ensure proper installation. A limited number of seats are available, so early arrival is recommended.
Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for black children under 14, according to Safe Kids. The goal of the event is to increase public awareness about vehicle safety for children.
