Victim of crash on Route 160 ID’d

A Las Vegas woman who died Sunday after her vehicle overturned on state Route 160 was identified by the Clark County coroner's office Monday.

Venice Marie Shaffer, 56, of Las Vegas died after her vehicle abruptly swerved to the left and overturned near mile marker 15 about 7 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Joseph Fackrell said.

Shaffer, the sole occupant of a Mazda Miata, was thrown from the vehicle. Fackrell said alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
