Victims named in fatal Northern Nevada crash
Three people died Wednesday in a head-on crash on Highway 50 near Dayton. A pickup drifted into oncoming traffic and struck a a sedan. The driver of the sedan was killed, along with the driver of the truck and the only passenger in the truck.
The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the names of three people killed in a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 50 about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Trooper Dan Lopez said a Ford pickup driven by 73-year-old Ellis Lee Erwin apparently drifted into oncoming traffic near Six Mile Canyon Road about five miles east of Dayton.
Also in the pickup was his wife, 72-year-old Louise Erwin.
The pickup struck a westbound Toyota Camry driven by 43-year-old Michelle Marie Stratton.
All three victims, who are from the Dayton area, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
