Woman arrested after hit-and-run accident that left two injured

A 23-year-old woman was arrested Sunday morning after Las Vegas police said she crashed a car into two people and left the area.

Concepcion Castaneda was booked at the Clark County jail on drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident charges, according to a Metro report released Monday.

Police said Concepcion crashed her black sport utility vehicle about 1:30 a.m. on Decatur Boulevard north of Vegas Drive. A witness told officers she struck two people, later identified as Kavion Henderson, 17, and Wallace Cook, 36, before crashing into a light pole.

Henderson and Cook were hospitalized in serious condition, the report said. Their current conditions weren’t immediately known Monday.

Concepcion ran from the area but was later spotted near the crash, the report said. She failed a field sobriety test and admitted to drinking “Smirnoff” before driving, the report said.

The results of her blood test weren’t immediately known, police said.
