Woman dies in Monday crash at Interstate 40 exit in Kingman

A northwest Arizona resident was fatally injured Monday in a single-vehicle crash that happened while exiting Interstate 40 in Kingman.

The Department of Public Safety said 35-year-old Charity McCumber died at the scene just before 9 p.m.

Kingman Fire Department Battalion Commander Bill Johnston said McCumber lost control of her four-door sedan on the eastbound Stockton Hill Road exit and struck a tree.

Johnston said firefighters extricated an 11-year-old boy who was trapped in the vehicle. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. His identity and condition were not released.
