LETTERS: Snyder right to delay stadium project

To the editor:

I applaud UNLV’s acting president, Don Snyder, for putting the campus stadium project on hold (“New stadium put on back burner,” Aug. 29 Review-Journal). Rushing this project in order to build an outdoor stadium would be a big mistake.

UNLV should build an indoor facility that can host the National Finals Rodeo and other events without being affected by adverse weather. The Thomas &Mack Center is aging, so a replacement for that facility would make the most sense.

The extra time will allow for smarter planning to build a facility that will be suitable for multiple events on a year-round basis.
