Two million dollars for what?
Your Aug. 17 article, “Construction wraps up along Summerlin Parkway,” mentions the $2 million tension steel cable barriers. That $2 million would have been better spent on a permanent center barrier — or even simply large boulders properly placed.
The existing cables overlap in places and aren’t needed where trees and mounds exist. In certain places the cables are too close to the road to allow a car to exit in emergency. Add to that, the cables are unsightly.
