What’s with all the outside consultants at the Clark County School District?

In response to the Friday story, “Canavero wants to hire expert for CCSD plans”:

There have been several similar reports over the years of our officials seeking outside consultants for “help.” Don’t these officials have staffs to figure this stuff out? If the members of the staff and officials don’t know what to do, maybe they should be removed and we can just have consultants take care of things.

Because I doubt that will ever happen, I offer this suggestion: If they are confused and need outside help, let the cost of the consultants be deducted from their pay. After all, as Mr. Canavero commented, “It’s a very modest amount.”
