Sen. Dean Heller says he will support a bill constitutionally authorizing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Heller said he wanted any DACA fix to include elements like mandatory E-Verify and money for border security, but that he would vote for a clean bill if that was the fix offered.
Sen. Dean Heller wants to ensure the new Raiders’ stadium in Las Vegas is able to issue tax-exempt bonds. The Tax Cut and Jobs Act unveiled last week in the House of Representatives includes a provision that prevents professional sports stadiums from issuing tax-exempt bonds. Without an exemption, that change would alter the financing of the Raiders stadium.
Heller made his comments while appearing Wednesday on Nevada Politics Today.

Quarterback EJ Manuel reflects on the Oakland Raiders loss to the Baltimore Ravens and how coach Del Rio addressed them following their third consecutive setback.

At Discovery Church in North Las Vegas, Pastor Dean Sanner, who doubles as a local police chaplain told attendees that authorities wouldn’t be able to explain the shooter’s motives. “Man is evil at its core, make no mistake about it,” Sanner declared. “God’s Word tells us that we are born into sin. Oh, can we do good things? We can, just like the shooter did… Just because somebody does good things doesn’t mean they don’t have a sin nature … It’s not until we get Christ in our heart that He begins to eradicate that and clean us up.” (Harrison Keely/Las Vegas Review-Journal)
