Americans revere being a ‘tech geek’ more than ever before [Infographic]

(BPT) - Americans’ opinions of “tech geeks” have changed drastically, according to a new report from Crucial.com. The survey, which was commissioned by Crucial.com and conducted by GMI, shows that though Americans associate “tech geeks” as being male, a majority (58 percent) have shifted their opinions of the label from negative to positive. The report also indicates that society values the development of tech skills. One in three survey participants said they prefer students learn tech and IT skills over reading and writing. Men and women alike view geek as the new chic in areas of romantic desirability, financial success and social status.
