Jessie Magdaleno wins by first-round KO in Phoenix

Jessie Magdaleno of Las Vegas made short work of Vergel Nebran, scoring a first-round knockout Saturday in their 10-round featherweight fight in Phoenix.
Magdaleno (22-0, 16 knockouts) dropped Nebran (14-10-1) midway through the first round. The Filipino boxer got up, but Magdaleno was all over him and decked Nebran again, this time for good. A body shot from Magdaleno finished Nebran, the end coming at 2:22.
The fight was initially scheduled for last month. But Magdaleno injured his right hand while sparring, and the fight was postponed until Saturday.
