Conservative talker Coulter won’t board soccer bandwagon

Below is a link to a column. We are providing it as a courtesy with explicit instructions to not click on it.

Please resist the temptation.

It is only provided for readers who are just so curious after reading an explanation of what the link directs to that they just absolutely must click to read for themselves.

So what can be found for those who choose to click on this link and read the latest column by Ann Coulter on her website?

A largely inaccurate soccer-bashing column that trots out just about every tired criticism of the sport that one can possibly squeeze into just under 1,000 words.

Seriously, every single one of them. There’s not enough scoring, players can’t use their hands, it’s boring, it’s foreign, it’s too liberal. All of them.

Wait, what was that last one?

Yes, Coulter managed to turn her soccer-bashing column, like anything else she ever writes or says, into an anti-liberal diatribe.

The biggest problem is the points she makes aren’t even accurate. In the first paragraph, Coulter complains about the games being too long. She’s trying to make the case that soccer seems to take forever. Fine, but the matches are shorter than any major sport. It just doesn’t make sense.

She also said to pop in a tape of Argentina playing Brazil to cure insomnia. Again, weak attempt at humor. The teams haven’t played in this World Cup, but if they meet it would be in the championship game and would be a matchup of two of the most exciting teams on the planet in one of the most anticipated games in soccer history.

That’s just lazy writing.

It’s fine to dislike soccer. Plenty of intelligent people can’t stand the sport. It’s not a problem. Not everybody likes football or basketball, either. But this is just ridiculous.

She tries to make plenty more idiotic points, but there’s no point in detailing all of them here. Go ahead and read it for yourself. But, again, please don’t.

It’s what she wants. She knows that she can say spew nonsensical foolishness that will get people worked up enough to give her the clicks that will line her pockets and keep her relevant. At this point, it would be logical to assume she just doesn’t believe anything she says and it’s just all for attention and publicity.

That’s why we took the bait and read it as a courtesy to our readers.

But, if you still must, go ahead and click.
