‘Dirty’ site gets scoop on Walker

No thanks, ESPN.

Never mind, New York Times.

Sayonara, Sports Illustrated.

Of all the media outlets for Javon Walker's first public response after his recent Las Vegas beatdown, the Oakland Raiders wide receiver chose ... TheDirty.com?

On Tuesday, Walker released a statement to his "good friends" at the little-known blog, linked to by Deadspin and ProFootballTalk. com: "I was just back at my room, and at about 5:30 in the morning I got a knock at the door. I opened it, and three guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything! Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That's what happened."

WHERE'S SHAWN? -- About 3,000 fans descended upon the Seattle federal courthouse Monday for a "Save Our Sonics" rally.

Former Sonics players Gary Payton and Xavier McDaniel spoke to the crowd as a six-day trial determining the fate of the team began.

"I've got a feeling they'll come to some sort of conclusion that in a couple of years we'll have another team," Sonics fan Jim Evans, 71, of Snohomish, Wash., told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "It's ridiculous for them to pull out of a place like this."

Though he was invited, former Sonics star Shawn Kemp could not attend the rally. The prolific procreator still must've been busy from Father's Day.

'TO THE BATCAVE!' -- Current Indiana Pacers and former New Mexico Lobos forward Danny Granger must be excited for the release of "The Dark Knight."

In a Q&A from Pacers.com linked to the Pacers blog IndyCornrows.com, Granger responded to this question: "Here in your house, do you have your sanctuary, your man-room or man-cave where it's all about you?"

Granger's answer?

"I do. It's in the basement where I play my video games. I think when I build a house a couple years down the line, I was telling my fiancée I wanted to have -- once again with the superhero thing -- you know how Batman drives into a hidden cave? I'm serious. I even met with like a builder and asked if this would be possible -- have a secret entrance to my house that no one knows about."

DRIVE-OFF SPECIAL -- The New York Post reports Roger Clemens has resorted to selling his belongings to help pay his legal bills.

According to the Post's Page Six column, the former Yankees pitcher sold his Bentley to former Poison frontman and "star" of VH1's "Rock of Love," Bret Michaels, for an undisclosed sum.

BEST MONEY CAN BUY -- Popular sports blog TheBigLead.com took a stab at annual salaries of top sports journalists -- and the figures might shock you.

Rick Reilly, ESPN: An estimated $3.4 million.

Michael Wilbon, ESPN/Washington Post: More than $2 million.

Bill Simmons, ESPN: $750,000 to $1 million.

Selena Roberts, Sports Illustrated: About $600,000.

ROSY BOTTOM -- Anaheim, Calif., stuntman Jim "Mouth" Purol plans to sit in every seat in the Rose Bowl -- 92,542 in all -- in five days without stopping, starting at 10 a.m. on July 7.

Says Dwight Perry of The Seattle Times: "Sore bottoms? Pundits fear he's about to experience the granddaddy of them all."
