The first woman to win multiple World Series of Poker championship bracelets and an Indonesian-born poker player with $17 million in tournament winnings will become the 49th and 50th members of the Poker Hall of Fame.
The World Series of Poker announced Monday that Jennifer Harman and John Juanda will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony Nov. 6 at Binion's Gambling Hall. The event takes place before the final table of the 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event takes place at the Rio on Nov. 8-10.
Harman and Juanda were elected ahead of eight other finalists by a panel consisting of existing Poker Hall of Fame members and the poker media.
Harman, a Reno native, has more than $2.7 million in tournament earnings, including two World Poker Tour final tables and reaching 12 WSOP final tables, winning twice. Harman is also recognized as a successful high-stakes cash game player in Las Vegas.
Juanda has earned five WSOP gold bracelets in his poker career, as well as a World Poker Tour crown and other tournament events.
"Both Jen and John are well-respected long-time poker players who have paid their dues and deserving to represent the 2015 class," Poker Hall of Fame governing council member Ty Stewart said in a statement.
The Poker Hall of Fame induction ceremony and dinner will take place inside the Longhorn Room, which was originally called Benny's Bullpen. The location was the original home of the World Series of Poker from 1970-2004. Harman has won both her WSOP gold bracelets at Binion's and three of Juanda's five bracelets were won there.
