Post Time 1 p.m.
Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $15,000, Claiming $12,500, 3-year-olds and up
Plan For Fun - Stuck in neutral last time as a beaten chalk; reclaimed by Knapp, one of the best trainer angles in racing.
Youhadyourchance - Tepid chalk in a wide open first race of the Oak Tree meet; back class and tactical speed are the danger.
Long Shot - Mob Rule
Race 2 - 1 1/8th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $26,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Wing Walker - No standouts in another tough looking race; like the rider switch to Nakatani, one of the top turf riders going.
Wellnessfast - Tepid chalk has had many close chances, but is crying to be beaten; uninspiring contender at a short price.
Long Shot - Made the Finals
Race 3 - 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Allowance, 3-year-olds and up
Street Boss - Amazing win last time when off slow and closed like a rocket; beat a nice horse with talent in Orientate Slew.
Johnny Eves - We’ll see early on how speed is holding over the brand new Cushion track; simple tactics of just let him rip.
Long Shot - Six Pack Abs
Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $43,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds
Shem Tov - Regressed in last going a mile after an OK debut; suspect will be cranked up by Abrams for a best effort today.
Fantasy Free - Logical chalk is strictly the one to beat; his speed figures tower over a suspect group, watch the tote too.
Long Shot - Dewey’s Special
Race 5 - 1 1/8th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $47,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 3-year-olds
Chancellor - Chased a very slow pace in last and did well closing for second; with any help up front, he’ll be more effective.
Patch of Blue - Never had a chance sitting in last place behind a dawdling pace; suspect colt has a lot more talent to show.
Long Shot - Rocky Road
Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $43,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Hilogold - Has a big edge in experience facing some good looking FTS; expect the Mig to try and take a hold of her early.
Zilla - FTS from the Headley barn that was really cranking the latter part of the Del Mar meet; Solis will make one wide run.
Long Shot - Santa Teresita
Race 7 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up
Megabyte - Beaten favorite is well spotted to make amends today; Baze stays loyal to Mitchell, will be striding best late.
Ridingwiththeking - Another dead late closer leaving from a parking lot post; Sherman is dropping him to get competitive.
Long Shot - Datticus
Race 8 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), $100,000 Sen. Ken Maddy Handicap, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Strong Faith - She ran a very good second to River’s Prayer in the Rancho Bernardo; Blanc should rate mid-pack for a late run.
Sophie’s Trophy - I picked her last time in a race packed with early speed; facing the same race shape today, key closer.
Long Shot - Clinet
Race 9 - 7 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Lutyens - Cerin has had enough of the tentative rides Talamo has given this horse; won’t be shocked if he blows up the field.
Devon Intervention - Hess taking the blinkers off today for the money shot; ran well off a 17-month sabbatical last time.
Long Shot - Cherokee Tear
Best Bet - Lutyens (race 9)
Del Mar Wednesday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 19/4/$25.60; Long Shots, 10/2/$22.20; Best Bet, 1/1/$4.20
Del Mar Final Totals - 686/165/$1,205.80; Long Shots, 346/42/$524.00; Best Bets, 40/19/$83.60
