Las Vegas rallies past Salt Lake

Angel Sanchez hit a go-ahead two-run single and Buck Coats tacked on a key insurance run in the eighth inning as the 51s rallied to beat the Salt Lake Bees 9-8 in a Pacific Coast League game Monday in Salt Lake City.

Sanchez, who finished 3-for-4, doubled and scored in the seventh inning, when Las Vegas plated two runs on Coats' two-run single to cut the Bees' lead to 7-6.

The 51s loaded the bases against reliever Jeremy Hill (3-4) in the eighth on Kevin Howard's leadoff single and one-out walks by Kyle Phillips and Aaron Mathews.

Sanchez followed with his single, which center fielder Reggie Willits bobbled for an error. Coats added a sacrifice fly to make it 9-7.

Salt Lake pulled within one on consecutive doubles by Willits and Freddy Sandoval in the eighth, before Jeremy Accardo pitched a scoreless ninth for his 10th save.
