Nationals outfielder sentenced to 5 days in jail

Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth pleaded guilty to reckless driving Thursday and was sentenced to five days in jail.

Werth was clocked driving 105 mph on the Capital Beltway in Washington, DC, last July. He was convicted last month in Fairfax County and sentenced to 10 days in jail, but he appealed.

He entered a guilty plea Thursday for a shorter sentence, according to the Washington Post. He is expected to serve the sentence on weekends as he rehabilitates from shoulder surgery.
