Nevada Fishing Report, Dec. 3, 2015

LAKE MEAD – The striper bite is good. Anglers are finding fast action outside of Government Wash. The fish aren't large but the numbers are good. Anglers are finding the bigger fish near Boulder Beach, but more people as well. Live shad are the most productive bait option when they are available, but Kastmasters with bucktails, Rat'l Traps and pencil poppers also are catching fish.

LAKE MOHAVE – Shoreline anglers are finding good fishing for striped bass. Princess Cove has been giving up quality catches. Good sized Stripers are biting. At the north end of Mohave, boaters have been bringing in stripers in the five- to 10-pound range. With cold temperatures anglers are encouraged to be safety conscious.

LAUGHLIN – The waters below Davis Dam hold channel catfish, striped bass, and now trout. Rainbows can be found along the river down to Bullhead City Community Park. PowerBait and night crawlers are fooling the fish. Lure options include spinners, Rooster Tails, Li'l Jakes, Blue Fox and Panther Martins. Striped bass being caught are on the small side.

LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS – Rainbow trout fishing has been excellent following recent trout plants. Most of the fish are taking a variety of PowerBait in yellow, orange or rainbow. Small lures, such as Super Dupers and Kastmasters also are catching fish.

KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA – It's official, winter temperatures have arrived. All reservoirs have ice, making fishing very iffy. The ice is too thin for fishing.

EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR – With overnight temperatures dipping into the single digits, the reservoir is now covered with a thin layer of ice. Conditions are not safe for fishing. For more information on ice thickness and conditions contact Spring Valley State Park at 775-962-5102.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR – Though it is not completely covered with ice, there is ice along the shoreline, making it very difficult to fish from shore and very unsafe to walk upon.
