Ohio State defensive lineman cited for solicitation

Ohio State officials confirmed Thursday that second-team All-Big Ten defensive lineman Adolphus Washington was cited by police for solicitation.

Washington, a senior, was cited for a first-degree misdemeanor on Wednesday night and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17.

The school plans to handle disciplinary action internally once coach Urban Meyer returns next week from recruiting trips, a school spokesman said. Washington apologized to teammates, family and friends after the incident.

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Washington has 49 tackles, four sacks, seven tackles for loss, one interception and one fumble recovery in 12 games this season. Ohio State has one game remaining against Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1.

NFLDraftScout.com ranks Washington as the No. 26 overall prospect for 2016 and the No. 5 defensive tackle.
