• LAKE MEAD — Fishing along the beaches between Hemenway and the swim beach has picked up in the past week. Keep in mind, fishing is prohibited within the marked swimming area. Most anglers are netting shad in the morning and using them as bait. Anglers are still catching stripers in the Vegas Arm with live shad and top-water lures. The best time for stripers has been in the morning before the winds come up or late afternoon. Catfish action should be good in the coves during the cooler hours of the day.
