Danny Perales hit a go-ahead grand slam to power a five-run eighth inning that carried the 51s to an 8-7 victory over the Grizzlies in the Pacific Coast League on Sunday at Fresno, Calif.
Perales, who replaced Ricardo Nanita in right field in the fourth inning, hit his third homer of the season off Matt Yourkin (1-3) with one out. The blast to right field scored Jonathan Diaz and Adam Lind, who both had singled, and Eric Thames, who walked.
The grand slam gave the 51s a 7-5 lead, and they tacked on the eventual decisive run on three infield errors by Fresno, two by second baseman Brock Bond.
The Grizzlies answered with two runs in the bottom of the eighth, but Jerry Gil pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save in two days for Las Vegas (35-28).
Bill Murphy (2-2), the second of five 51s pitchers, got the win in relief of Scott Richmond, who allowed three runs in four innings.
Las Vegas had 13 hits, led by Lind with four, Travis d'Arnaud with three (also two RBIs) and Anthony Gose and Paul Phillips with two apiece.
The 51s return home tonight to open a three-game series against Tucson, and Colorado Springs comes to Las Vegas for a four-game series starting Thursday.
