Rebels’ comeback stops Cowboys
LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Oscar Bellfield, Chace Stanback and Tre'Von Willis each scored 17 points as UNLV overcame a sluggish start with a dominant second half to defeat Wyoming, 74-65.
The Rebels improved to 16-5 overall and 4-3 in the Mountain West Conference.
UNLV trailed 31-23 at the half before Bellfield and Stanback sparked a big rally. The Rebels shot 12-for-18 from the field to open the second half and took a 44-42 lead on Willis' 3-pointer with 13 minutes remaining.
Quintrell Thomas had back-to-back dunks to put UNLV up 61-49 with 6:32 to go.
The Rebels were uninspired while shooting 3-for-19 to open the game and 9-for-29 in the first half. But they responded with their highest-scoring half (51 points) of the season.
Desmar Jackson's 17 points led Wyoming (8-12, 1-5).

LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Desmar Jackson scored eight points to lift Wyoming to a 31-23 halftime lead over UNLV in a Mountain West Conference game at the Arena-Auditorium.
The sluggish Rebels shot 3-for-19 from the field to open the game and finished 9-for-29 for the half.
Tre'Von Willis' 3-pointer put UNLV up 21-18 with 5:06 remaining. But the Cowboys scored the next 10 points to wake up the crowd of about 3,000.
Willis, who had nine points to lead the Rebels, stopped the Wyoming run with a layup with a minute to go.
UNLV shot 2-for-14 on 3-pointers and had eight turnovers.
