Carlos Peguero swatted a three-run home run to cap a four-run sixth inning and lead the Tacoma Rainers to a 4-3 Pacific Coast League victory over the 51s in Tacoma, Wash., on Sunday.
With the Rainiers trailing 2-1 and one out in the sixth, Peguero delivered his seventh homer of the season to send Las Vegas starter Robert Ray to his third loss in as many decisions.
Tacoma's first run of the inning came on Kyle Seager's triple and a wild pitch by Ray.
The 51s (54-55) took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning on David Cooper's run-scoring double, one of his three hits on the day.
Las Vegas made it 2-0 in the sixth on an RBI double by Adam Loewen.
Brett Lawrie brought the 51s within 4-3 in the seventh when he singled home Mike McCoy from second base.
Starter Luke French (8-7) earned the win for Tacoma (54-55) after holding the 51s to three runs on five hits over 6 2/3 innings, while walking three and striking out two.
Cesar Jimenez and Scott Patterson held the 51s in check the rest of the way, with Patterson recording his fourth save with a two-strikeout ninth inning.
